Straight Curve have set themselves one hell of a challenge, to raise £50,000 and we are asking the film community to get involved in any way they can. We would like to send three special children and their families to Florida for Dolphin therapy followed by a very special visit to Disney to meet Mickey and his pals.

Why are we doing this??

Well the young lady in the pictures you can see here belongs to Straight Curve's chief organiser Tina and she was lucky enough to spend four days with the Dolphins receiving therapy in April this year. We want to send her back for a much more intensive course of therapy and at the same time give two other special kids the chance to benifit from the therapy too.

My name is Abbie

I am a very happy and smiley girl and although I do not know how to talk I can pretty much understand most of what you are saying to me. I have something called Angelman Syndrome which is very rare so I really am very special!! I am not so good at walking but I love to swim as much as my mum lets me. I have this rotten things called Epilepsy that makes me stay in a hospital evey now and again but I get lots of attention so its not so bad. I loved Florida and I especially loved all the fast rides at Disney, I am officially a speed freak!

What is Dolphin Therapy?

The dolphin provides unconditional acceptance to each child. These experiences can be so rewarding that they may stimulate the child to attempt new things they otherwise might hesitate to try. The relationship developed throughout the sessions with the dolphins can provide increased self-esteem, increased attention, increased commitment to and trust of others, and increased motivation to continue attempting new tasks. Activities are based on the needs and the abilities of the child. Each child's therapy session differs. The activities range from hands-on interactions with the dolphin from the floating platform, to in-water interactions with the dolphin.

What is Straight Curve doing to raise funds?

Straight Curve are pulling in all thier contacts in the film industry to come on board and raise some cash. We will be running auctions to sell unique film memorabilia and unique one off experiences such as visits to film sets etc on our website and eBay. Please do check into the website regularly to see what we have on offer.

What can you do to help?

• Donate online
• Hold a sponsored event, shave your head, lose those unwanted pounds, walk or run a long way.
• Have a boot sale and get all of your friends to give you unwanted stuff to sell
• Send an email to everyone in your address book telling them about what we are doing and ask them to donate £1 each, then ask them to send the email to everyone in their address book and lets see what happnes!

Anything you can come up with will be great, a little goes a long way.
